Edna L. Showman, 80, of Napoleon, died Jan. 25 at Henry County Hospital. Born in Napoleon Township on Aug. 8, 1906, she was the daughter of William and Augusta (Bernicke) Gaede. She married Ray E. Showman on Feb. 26, 1925, and he died Sept. 26, 1963. Surviving are five sons, Burdette, Robert and Kenneth all of Napoleon, Larry of Defiance, and Ronald of Fremont; four daughters, Arlene Miller of McClure, Marlene Downey of Toledo, Carolyn Talmage of Napoleon and Barbara Haselman of Deshler; one brother, Harold Gaede of Napoleon; two sisters, Amelia Dietrich of Napoleon and Helen Plassman of Toledo; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Richard, Leroy and Russell and one daughter, Shirley. Mrs. Showman was a former employee of Groll Restaurant and Huston Laundry, both in Napoleon. A member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, she was also a member of the church's Martha Circle. Services were held Jan. 29 at Emanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norman Ritterling officiating. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery.
