Eleanora R. Schroeder, 98, of Leipsic, died Feb. 11 at her home. She was born April 14, 1888, in Kalida to Jacob and Bernadine (Rieman) Smith. She married Augustus W. Schroeder on April 13, 1910, and he died Sept. 1, 1946. Surviving are nine sons, Cletus, James., Guido, Saturninus, Hyacinth, Dennis J. Valen, Justin, and Ronald, all of Leipsic; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Geneva) Snyder and Mrs. Harold (Caletta) Niese, both of Leipsic and Mrs. George (Bernadette) Burke of Columbus; 64 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Schroeder was the oldest member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, and she was a member of St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society. Funeral services were Feb. 14 at the church with the Revs. Louis Osterhage and Al Miorin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Snyder Funeral Home, Leipsic was the scene of the rosary.
