Donald G. Scholtz, 68, of Walbridge, died Aug. 6 in St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee. He was born Feb. 20, 1919 in McClure to John and Esther (Ruehle) Scholtz. He married E. Louise Shuler in Cleveland on Feb. 14, 1953 and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rose L. Rose of Walbridge; two brothers, Eugene of McClure and John of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Alice Tadarello of McClure, Mary Scholtz of Grand Rapids, and Barbara Coss of Los Lunas, N.M.; and one granddaughter. A Navy veteran of World War II, Scholtz was employed by Toledo Hardware and Supply Co. as a salesman and became an officer and a partner in the business in 1969. He was a life member and past commander of the Waltz Hodgins American Legion Post 248, a member of Rubicon Lodge 237, Scottish Rite, Zenobia Shrine, and the Stewards Unit, all in Toledo. He was also a charter member of Walbridge VFW Post 9963. Services were held at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home in Walbridge. Burial was in Lake Township Cemetery.
