Edward "Matt" Spahn, 82 of Eastland Acres, Deshler died at his residence. He was born March 23, 1899 in Pemberville to August and Hannah (Vermice) Spahn. He married Bessie Purtee on July 12, 1922 and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Wright of Deshler; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Spahn was a horse trainer. He lived in Wood and Seneca counties most of his life. Funeral services were held at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. Lewis Gray officiating. Burial was in Pemberville Union Cemetery.
