Sarah J. Hoglin was born In Hardy county, Virginia, June 7, 1836, and moved to Delaware county, O., with her father's family. She was married to Aaron T. Swartz, June 24th, 1854, at Patterson, O., and to this union ten children were born.

After many months of suffering she died July 10, 1900, aged 64 years, 1 month and 3 days, one daughter having preceded her to the Great Beyond. She leaves a devoted husband, four daughters, five sons, twenty-eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister, beside many friends to mourn their loss.
