Alma M. Rettig, 80, of Napoleon died Thursday morning, July 25, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee. Born in Henry County Jan. 13, 1902, she was the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Stevens) Schaper. On Feb. 28, 1926, she married Perry Rettig, and he preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1986. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Holgate, and its Women's Guild. Surviving are two sons, Rev. Marwood Rettig of Okemos, Mich., and Roland of Napoleon; two daughters, Marlene Rettig of Holgate and Fern Yaichner of Napoleon; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Henry and Albert Schaper; and a sister Esther Rettig. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28 in St. John's United Church of Christ, Holgate. Rev. Howard Hershberger officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery.
