Carl E. Hoops, 72, Route 2, Deshler, died Thursday, Jan. 17 in Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo. He was born March 9, 1918 in Bartlow Township, Henry County, the son of Johann and Adina (Schwiebert) Hoops. In 1945, he married Ruth Thomas who survives. He was employed for 18 years at Metal Forge, Deshler, and was a farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Gottschalk of Deshler, and Dennis Hoops, Custar; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Susan) Webster, Cleveland; a sister, Regina Bostelman, Deshler; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
