Deshler native Barbara Ann Cordes, 57, of North Fort Myers, Fla., died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, June 28 at her residence. She was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Deshler to Hose and Pearl (Spangler) Burner. She married Paul Cordes on Sept. 15, 1951, and he survives. Also surviving is a son, Tom of Richmond, Ind.; a grandson; a brother, Raymond Burner in Virginia, and two sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Esther) Clark, Mrs. Jeanette Cline, both of Euclid. Mrs. Cordes was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler. She moved to Florida in June, 1990. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, the Rev. Edwin Dodt officiated. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler. Arrangements were handled by Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.
