Daniel B. Bauer, 39, of Holgate died Aug. 26 in rural Defiance. A 1970 graduate of Holgate High School, Mr. Bauer had farmed for a number of years and most recently was employed by the Thomas E. Keller Trucking co., of Defiance. He was a member of Emanuel's United Church of Christ, New Bavaria, and a former member of the Florida and Holgate volunteer fire departments. Surviving are his mother in Holgate; brother, Larry of Defiance; sisters, Virginia Osborn and Janice Cain, both of Holgate; Margie Lord, of Kimmel Ind., and Nancy Augsberger, of New Haven, Ind. Also preceding him in death was his brother James, in 1968. Services were held Aug. 30 in the Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate, with the Rev. Howard Hershberger officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery in rural New Bavaria.
