Fred G. Bruns, 80, formerly of Hamler, died Jan. 20 at Holly Glen Care Center, Toledo. Mr. Bruns was born in Hamler on Sept. 29, 1909 to Henry and Emelia (Schelle) Bruns. On Sept. 21, 1935, he married Thelma Doty, and she preceded him in death in October of 1988. A 43-year employee of the A&P Tea Co., he retired in 1971. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 20, Toledo. Surviving are a son, Robert of Goldsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Emma Miller, of Napoleon, and Martha Badenhope of Toledo, and two granddaughters. Services were held Jan. 23 at Toledo's Walker Funeral Home with interment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
