Herman Basselman, 86, of Co. Rd. 2, Deshler, died Feb. 13 at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green. He was born in Richfield Township on Sept. 5, 1900 to Fred and Sophia (Seemann) Basselman. He married Augusta Dickmander on Feb. 26, 1933 and she died Jan. 6, 1987. Surviving are two sons, Al of Deshler and Rudy of Ridgeville Corners; a brother, Fred, of Deshler, eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Basselman was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, where he held several offices. He was a Democratic precinct worker for 35 years in Barlow Township. Funeral Services were Monday at St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Earl Key officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bloor Funeral Home, Deshler, was in charge of arrangements.
