Arthur Dillsaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dillsaver, aged 25 years, passed away at his home here Tuesday morning, from the effects of gas which he received while in the service on a French front.
Mr. Dillsaver, when he left Deshler was a stout, robust young man, but upon his return here after having been discharged from a hospital in New York where he had received treatment, was much reduced in weight and his lungs partially gone caused by the terrible effects of the Hun gas which he had received.
Funeral services will be held today from the U. B. Church, at 2 o'clock.
Obituary #2, Deshler Flag, May 30, 1919:
Arthur Leon Dilsaver, son of William and Alice Dillsaver [sic], was born December 20, 1892, and departed this life May 21, 1919, at the age of about 26 years and six months. He is survived by his father and mother and the following brothers: Frank, Elmer, David, Wilbur and Archibold, and one sister, Madge, one sister preceding him to the great beyond.
He was called into the service of his country, March 26, 1918, and in May following went overseas. His health failed and he was sent back to this country in September following and sent to a hospital at Wainsville, N. C., and later to Asheville, N. C. He was discharged March 6th of this year and was brought home by his brother, where for the last month or two he had been a great sufferer.
