Obituary: John L. Snyder, 86, a two-year resident of Oak Grove Quality Care, died July 30 at the nursing home. He had been in failing health the past several months. He was born March 6, 1901 in Henry County to John and Ida (LeVeck) Snyder. He married Leola Gertrude Sterling on April 25, 1925 and they were divorced. He later married Millie Dannenberger on July 10, 1954, and she died July 8, 1985. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Iva ) Gill of Cygnet; a step-son, Harley Raymond Dannenberger of Taylor, Mich.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Sakel of Toledo, Mrs. Betty Bowers of Huntington, Ind., Mrs. Wayne (Marthann) Lampley, West Frankford, Ill.; three grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, 30 step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren. Snyder was a laborer. Funeral services were held Aug. 1 at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home in Deshler with the Rev. Gene Landon officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn.
