Lee R. Smith, 79, of Route 1, Hamler died May 6 at Henry County Hospital in Napoleon. He was born Dec. 22, 1907 in Illinois to Guy and Mary (Berg) Smith. He married Addie Brink on Sept. 6, 1928 and she survives. Also surviving are four sons, Robert of Defiance, William of Leipsic, Ronald of Colbert, Wash., and Larry of Malinta; three daughters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Beckham of Hawthorne, Fla., Mrs. Wayne (Linda) roehrig of Defiance, and Mrs. Leonard (Carolyn) Sizemore of Holgate; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dallas of Defiance, Marvin of New Bavaria, and Roy of Dover, Del.; and three sisters, Mary Ott of Prospect, Mrs. Alvin (Ethel) Frank of Holgate and Hazel Wojcieshowski of Toledo. Smith was a farmer in Henry and Defiance counties. He was a member of Leipsic Eagles Lodge, Henry County Coon Hunters Club and New Bavaria Veterans of Foreign Wars. Funeral services were held May 8 at Mast and Mock Funeral Home in Defiance. Burial was in Ayersville Cemetery.
