Richard B. Long, 55 of Niland, Calif., died recently in the University Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calif. A former Liberty Center resident, Mr. Long was born in Whitehouse, Oh., on October 18, 1935 to Bernard V. and Elizabeth (Ryerson) Long. In 1956, he married Madelyn Minnick, who survives. Mr. Long was a graduate of Grand Rapids (Ohio) High School, a U. S. Army veteran, a former employee of the GM Central Foundry at Defiance and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Grand Rapids. Also surviving are his daughters, Julie Bingham, of Defiance; Barbara Parker of Garrett, Ind., and Karen Pulsifer of Turner, ME., parents; brothers, Carl, Gary;, David, Fred, and Terry; sister Dolores Jean Rasey and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Brian and Danny.
