Comment: Mrs. Arminta Katherine Bates of Stedwick, age 70 years, died at the home of her son Henry Bates of Napoleon, Ohio Saturday after an extended illness. The body was returned to Ironton Sunday. Funeral services will be held at Sedwick Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o clock with Rev. Hansher in charge. Internment will be made in Hanging Rock Cemetery, under direction of Gholson and Sons. Mrs Bates had many friends in Ironton and vicinity and all will be shocked to learn of her death. Arminta was the daughter of James M. Clear & Tabitha D. Rose.
Obituary: She was the wife of George Allen Bates. Arminta and George were married on February 23,1882 in Wayne County, West Virginia. George was Arminta's third husband.
