The Rev. Fred D. Rayle, 86, died Nov. 27 at the Winebrenner Extended Care Facility, Findlay. He was born Nov. 29, 1900, near Hamler to Ed and Ada (Miller) Rayle. He married Elsie Fleck on June 15, 1931 and she died on Jan. 22, 1986. Survivors include a daughter, Rev. Marilyn Rayle Kern of Findlay; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Wilmer (Mildred) Haughn, Ottawa. Rev. Rayle served as pastor of the Church of God in Pleasant Hill, Pleasant Ridge, Neptune, Mount Carmel, Celina and Cleveland. He graduated from Findlay College in 1924 and the Yale Divinity School in 1928. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Findlay College in 1950. Funeral services were held in the church with the Rev. John A. Parthemore, Jr. and the Rev. Darrell Prichard officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
