Gerald "Pete" Parsons, 55, a former Deshler resident, died July 22 in his Defiance home. Mr. Parsons was born March 31, 1936, in Deshler to Donald and Mary (Scheerer) Parsons. He married Karen Lee in 1956 and she survives. Also surviving are his sons, Timothy, Doug and Anthony, all of Defiance; daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Cheryl) Marckel of Sylvania; Mrs. Tom (Julie) Gallup of Luckey; six grandchildren and brother Don L. of St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Parsons was vice president of sales at Brown's Bakery, Defiance, for 33 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the Elks Lodge and Kettering Country Club, both a Defiance. Funeral services were held July 25, in the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance. The Rev. Edward Schleter officated. Burial was in the Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
