H.C. Powell Dies Tuesday Night

Many Deshler Friends Feel Great Loss at Passing of Highly Respected Man

After a serious illness of several weeks' duration, following a paralytic stroke, Mr. H. C. Powell of Deshler passed away at his home on Elm Street, death thus taking a well known and well liked citizen of this village.

Several weeks ago Mr. Powell suffered a stroke of paralysis one evening while on business up town. Since that time he had ben in a very critical comdition. The latter part of last week, he was reported as being in a somewhat improved condition, but the first of this week, he gradually became weaker, and passed away Tuesday night at midnight.

Mr. Powell had long been a resident of Deshler, serving in various public capacities, working at several trades, in all of which he made and kept many friends. Of late, the deceased had been in the insurance business. Throughout his illness his many friends had been hoping and praying for his recovery from this serious attack. He is survived by his wife and six children.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the M. E. Church.
