Kenneth E. "Bud" Powell, 61, of County Road 2, Deshler, died Monday, Feb. 18 at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born June 18, 1929 in Bartlow Township, Henry County, son of Henry C. and Clara M. (Muth) Powell. He married Helen Junk on April 14, 1956 and she survives. Mr. Powell was a farmer. He was a Korean War Army veteran, a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau, and the Deshler American Legion. He was a charter member of the Bavarian Club, Deshler; a past president and director of the Deshler Farmers Elevator; and a past committee member of Henry County ASCS. Also surviving are five sons, Steven of Bowling Green, Douglas of Deshler, Daniel, Jeffrey and John all at home and a daughter Cathy Powell of Dunbridge; four grandchildren; a brother, Norman of Rossford; and three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Ruby) Dow, Largo Fla., Mrs. Milford (Pauline) Wagner, McComb and Evelyn Powell, Toledo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Father Joseph Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be conducted at the funeral home and the cemetery.
