Rudolph F. Meyer, 84, Hamler, died in Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. He was March 9, 1897 in Barlow Township to August and Mary (Oelfke) Meyer. He married Alvina Bartles on Feb. 21, 1918, and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Raymond C., Deshler; Ervin R., of Hamler and Donald F. of McClure; a daughter, Mrs Alfred (Juanita) Peterson of Hamler; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lorna Bindeman and Mrs. Eldor (Loretta) Bindeman both of Napoleon. A farmer, Mr. Meyer, was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler, where he had served as organist for 64 1/2 years, starting in 1913 and retired in 1977. He was a farmer field man for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for 13 years, a community and county committeeman of the organization and director of Farm Bureau Organization of Henry County for three years. Funeral services were held at the church, the Rev. Patrick W. Boots officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
