Obituary: Viola W. Newton, 76, of 101 W. Elm St., Deshler, died at her home. She was born April 3, 1905 in Custar to George and Ida (Smith) Weaver. She married Harley L. Newton, and he survives in Bradenton, Fla. Also surviving are two sons, Lawrence of Findlay; Donald of Fremont; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Sue) Eisenhart of Perry and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Newton was a bookkeeper for the Deshler Farm Elevator for 30 years. She also was secretary of Deshler Rebecca Lodge 464 for 30 years, and a member of the Deshler Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. James Shotwell officiating. Burial will be Richfield Cemetery, Westhope.
