Mandana Swartz, daughter of John and Almira Crawford, was born March 2, 1877, near Belmore, Putnam county, O., and departed this life January 8, 1904, at Deshler, Ohio, aged 28 years, 10 months and 8 days, the cause of her death being tuberculosis.
She was brightly converted to God when fourteen years of age, and lived a consistent, exemplary Christian life. She was a patient sufferer, showing an evenness of disposition and a calmness of soul while in even the greatest bodily distress.
Mrs. Swartz united with the Free Methodist church shortly after her conversion twelve years ago, and was a faithful member until her death, leaving behind the living testimony that she has gone to join the church invisible.
Besides the husband and three children, she leaves behind to mourn her loss, a father, mother, five sisters, three brothers, and many who will feel that in her death they have lost a worthy friend.
The funeral services were held in the Free Methodist church, conducted by Revs. H. F. Hall and E. F. Aiken.
