Funeral services for Clara Mae Stevens, 84, formerly of 318 W. Water St., North Baltimore were held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, North Baltimore, the Rev. Paul Eicher officiating. Burial was in McComb Union Cemetery. Mrs. Stevens died at Oak Grove Manor, Deshler after an extended illness. She was born March 10, 1897 to John and Elva (Saul) Newell. On Oct. 2, 1918, she married Melvin Stevens, who died in January 1948. Surviving are a son, Leonard of North Baltimore, a daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Anna Rose) Leader of Gurnee, Ill.; a brother, Osro of Deshler; a sister; Mrs Carl (Dorothy) Kerns of Deshler; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. From 1949-69, Mrs. was a house mother for nursing students at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She taught Sunday School for 60 years at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
