Bernice Meyer, 89, who made her home with her daughter near Malinta, died Sunday morning, Aug. 18, in the Defiance Hospital. A former resident of Adams Township in Defiance County, she was born in Williams County on April 25, 1902 to Noah and Clara (Suhr) Coulon. On Nov. 23, 1921, she married George C. Meyer, and he died Jan. 27, 1977. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Adams Township, where she had formerly served as organist and was a member of its Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Defiance County Home Demonstration Group. Surviving are her daughter, Lorna Fuhrhop, of rural Malinta; three granddaughters, and six great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Norma; brother, Carl Coulon, and sister, Frances Bostelman. Services were held Aug. 21 in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Adams Township. Rev. William Schulz officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery.
