Cecil M. McCandless, 91, of 525 E. Holmes St., Deshler and formerly of North Palm Beach, FL., died at 6 am. Monday at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. He was born March 22, 1899 in Putnam County to Samuel and Florence (Armstrong) McCandless. He married Martha Romay, and she preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. H. (Jeanne) Myers of Deshler; a stepson, Ron Romay of North Palm Beach, FL; a stepdaughter, Ruth Armstrong of Fort Lauderdale, FL; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert of Kansas state and George of Rhode Island. Mr. McCandless retired in 1960 as a brakeman with the New York Central Railroad. He was a member of F&AM Lodge 708, Toldeo. No funeral service or visitation will be held. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, West Palm Beach, FL. Local arrangements were made by Snyder-Bloor Funeral Home, Deshler.
