Accidental death was the verdict of the Putnam County coroner in the case of Marshall Miller, retired farmer of Patterson about 5 miles north of Ottawa, who was found dead in the back yard of his farmhouse at 9 o'clock Thursday morning. Miller started from his home early Thursday morning taking his shot gun with him. He told his wife that he was going to kill an animal that had been causing a disturbance about the farm. An hour later, his body was found by members of the family. The coroner was called and rendered a verdict of accidental death. The dead man was practically a life long resident of Putnam county and was prominent in the community north of Ottawa.
