Arthur D. Rood, 61, of Custar died Tuesday, Feb 12 in his home. Mr. Rood was born in Bowling Green on August 14, 1929 to John and Marie Meyer) Rood. On June 20, 1954, he married Evelyn Meinke and she survives. Mr. Rood was a state bank examiner for 25 years and was a U. S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Deshler's St. John Lutheran Church and the Custar American Legion Post. Also surviving are his sons Carl of Lodi, Calif; Loren of Rossford; Patrick of Ossian, Ind., and Jason at home; daughters, Diane Ewing of Fort Wayne, and Barbara Welch of Pt. St. Lucie, Fla.; brothers Melvyn of Milton Center, Oh.; John of Waldorf, Md., and Ramon of Dunbridge, Oh.; sisters, Donna Humphrey and Judith Scott both of Milton Center; Janice Keast of North Baltimore; Miriam Evans, of Wayne, Oh., and Linda Vasquez of Buford, Ga., and six grandchildren. Services were held Friday, Feb. 15 in St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler with the Rev. Roger Marlow officiating. Burial was in Milton Township Cemetery, Custar.
