Paul L. Courtney, 85, of Deshler, died June 30 in the Oak Grove Quality Care Center in Deshlerr. Born July 7, 1904, in Belmore, he was the son of William and Lulu (Mull) Courtney. On Feb. 24, 1929, he married Ida Mae Hunter and she survives. He was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church in Deshler. Also surviving are his daughters, Delores Freeman of Deshler and Joyce Baumgardner of Rudolf, Oh.; son Calvin of Toledo; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were son, Richard; daughter Alice Kurt; brothers, Ralph and Clarence and his parents. Services were held July 3 in the Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home in Deshler. Rev. Marilyn Chivington and Rev. Delmar Young officiated. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Deshler.
