Leah A. Packard, 88, of Malinta, died May 15 in the Henry County Hospital. She was born in Monroe Township on May 17, 1901 to Jerome and Cora (Mohler) Eisaman. On April 6, 1921, she married Charlie Packard, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1952. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Vilas, Gale and Orland "Jack" Eisaman, and a sister, Beryl Sickmiller. Mrs. Packard was a homemaker and lifetime member of Malinta United Methodist Church. Surviving are son, Charley of Malinta; daughters Allice Beth Spiess of Prudenville, MI, Betty Seydler of San Antonio, TX, Retha Carothers of Toledo, and Lila Lubold of Manassas, VA; sister, Iona Detmer of Napoleon; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Services were held May 18 in Malinta United Methodist Church, Rev. Roger Reece officiating. Interment was in Hoy Cemetery, Harrison Township.
