Obituary: Clarence V. Courtney age 88, of Erie St., Sylvania passed away in his home on September 18. Clarence and his wife moved to Sylvania in 1925. He started in the Sylvania School system in 1925 as a teacher and principal for many years. He was the elementary education supervisor and assistant superintendent of Sylvania School system for 36 years retiring in 1961. He is the widower of Ruth. He is survived by daughters: Mrs. Helen Jean Covell of Branch and Mrs. JoAnne Bryan of Sylvania and son Donald Courtney of Los Angeles, CA; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother Paul Courtney of Deshler, OH. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday.
