Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bloor Funeral Home in Deshler for Lester C. Thompson, 76, 223 N. East St., Deshler, who died Mar. 16 in his home. The Rev. Delmar Young will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Thompson was born in Hammansburg on June 3, 1910 to Lester and Etta (Moore) Thompson. He married Helen L. Van Zandt on June 30, 1930 and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Gene, of Deshler; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Dawn) Haas of Mcclure and Mrs. Robert (Janet) Patton of Dunwoody, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Nona Wetherholt of Cygnet and Mrs. Alice Dick of Fox Run Manor, Findlay. Thompson retired in 1974 as a fireman with the B&O Railroad. He was a member of the Deshler United Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Retired Firemen.
