Minnie Brandt, 89, of Colton, died Nov. 16 in Henry County Hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1898, in Stanley, Ohio to John and Mary (Mengerink) Norden. She married Fremond William Brandt on June 22, 1924, and he died in September 1975. Surviving are a son, Delbert, of Colton; two daughters, Marcille Katon and Delores Atkinson, both of Liberty Center; a brother, John Norden of Hamler; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia, and five brothers, Herman, William, Carl, David and Fred. Mrs. Brandt had worked for Electric Auto-Life of Toledo and Perfection Finishing of Wauseon retiring in 1960. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, where she had taught Sunday School for 25 years and was active in the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member of the Napoleon, LIberty Center, and Delta senior citizens clubs and the Napoleon AMVETS Auxiliary 1313. She was an active bowler, and won bronze and gold medals while participating in Senior Citizen bowling tournaments. Services were held Nov. 19 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Swearer officiating. Burial was in Heath Cemetery.
