Lucille E. Betts, 65, or 534 E. Bartlow St., Deshler, died Monday at Rapids Nursing home, Grand Rapids. She was born Dec. 17, 1915, in Toledo to James and Beulah (Maxwell) Murphy. She married Dr. Thomas F. Betts on June 4, 1936, and he survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Hipp of Armonk, N.Y.,Mrs. Robert (Rebecca) Rutter of Holland, Mrs. Jeff (Rosemary) Carmean of Toledo; two sons, Thomas of Riverlea, Richard of Deshler; two brothers, Robert Murphy and James B. Murphy both of Toledo and nine grandchildren. Mrs. Betts was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse. She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Toledo. Funeral services were at the church, the Rev. James Brown officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
