Clara L. Franz, 87, of Route 2, Deshler, died at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. She was born on Oct. 14, 1893 in Henry County to John C. and Katie (Rettig) Meyer. She married Ferdinand Franz, who died March 5 1947. Surviving are five sons, John of Maitland, Fla., Robert, Dale, Harold and Earl all of Desler; five daughters, Mrs. John (Almeda) Osborn of Belmore, Mrs. Hazel Waber of Deshler, Mrs. Ed (Janet) Saneholtz of Napoleon, Mrs. Lewis (Faye) Sterling of Toledo, Mrs. James (Lois) Thomas, of Holgate; 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Alma Christman of Deshler. Mrs. Franz was a member of the WSCS and Deshler United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. George Font officiating. Burial was in St. John United Christian Church Cemetery, Holgate.
