A memorial service for Dennis R. Lawrence, 34, of 217 Elm Street, Deshler, was held on Wednesday,at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. David Coffin officiated. Mr. Lawrence was killed about 10:45 p.m. Friday, June 14, when his car collided with a semi truck near the intersection of Ohio 235 and Jerry City Road, north of Hoytville. He was born July 29, 1956 in Fulton County to Orville and Carolyn Virginia (Bannister) Lawrence. His father survives in Toledo and his mother, now Carolyn Baden, survives in Silver Lake, Ind. He married Phyllis A. Wade Young on March 18, 1963 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Angela Lawrence and Nicole Young, both of Deshler; five stepchildren; eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Billy (Jennifer) Hall of Holgate; Mrs. Larry (Denise) Wimberly of Rantol, Ill.; and two brothers Donald of Holgate and Ronald of Malinta. Mr. Lawrence was employed as assistant plant manager at Toledo Coke. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Trinity Lutheran Church.
