Mearl B. LaRue, 95, of Deshler, died on Mar. 1 at Oak Grove Quality Care. He was born in Henry County on Nov. 13, 1894 to Clifford and Alberta (Butler) LaRue. On April 4, 1920, he married Ora Belle Rader and she preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1964. Also preceding his in death was a son, Donald. Mr. LaRue was a retired farmer, a World War I Navy veteran, a member of the Oakdale Methodist Church, Deshler and a member of the Deshler American Legion. Surviving are three sons, Dwight of Deshler, Carol of Ontario, CA. and Paul of McComb; three sisters, Beulah Spangler of Deshler, Ruth Craft of Bowling Green and Margaret Barnhart of Marion; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Services were held Mar. 4 in the Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Rev. Marilyn Chivington officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
