Catherine M. "Katie" fly, 98, a resident of Lima Convalescent Home, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, July 15 at the nursing home. She was born Nov. 19, 1892 in Makana, Ill. to Dr. Cyrus and Susan (Lirely) Miller. She married Charles A. Fly on Nov. 27, 1913 and he died May 7, 1962. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Homer G. (Catherine) Hanke, Wilmington, Del.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Dr. Charles Fly, of Deshler; and a granddaughter, Cathy Fly. Mrs. Fly was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a past president of Lima Social Order of Beauceant and a 50-year member of both Trinity Chapter 15 Order of the Eastern Star and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, the Rev. David Beckett officiated. Arrangements were handled by Chiles & Sons Laman Funeral Homes, Lima.
