Paul L. "Colt 45" Panning Sr., 63, of Vaughnsville, died March 13 at his residence. He was born Aug. 23, 1923 to Lewis and Innise (Lieb) Moore. he married Mamie E. Cleaves on Jan. 19, 1942, and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Vincent R. of San Diego, Calif., and Paul L. Jr. of Hermeston, Ore., Staff. Sgt. Larry L. of Young Song, Korea; five daughters, Norma J. Sargent of Hermeston, Ore., Mrs. Robert (Paulette) Youngberg of Athens Ore., Irene Keller of Ohio City, Mrs. Richard A. (Brenda) Recker of Ottawa and Arlene Cameron of Delphos; 17 grandchildren, three brothers, Archie Moore of McComb, George Moore of Findlay, and James Moore of Benton Ridge; and a sister, Mrs. Albert (Bernita) Nighswander of Leipsic. Panning was a retired employee of GTE Sylvania in Ottawa. he was a U. S. Army Special Forces veteran of World War II, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler, and a member of the CB Skippers radio club. Funeral services were held March 16 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove with the Rev. Owen Wright officiating. Burial was in Vaughnsville Cemetery.
