Funeral services for M. Nelson Hill, 86, of 301 W. Main St., Deshler, were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Pastor Robert Rector officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
An Odd Fellows service was held at 8 p.m. Monday.
Mr. Hill died at 11 p.m. Friday in Austin, Texas.
He was born Feb. 19, 1894, in Deshler to John Michael and Mary Christina (Leffler) Hill. He married Mildred Wickard on Dec. 23, 1915, and she died Aug. 27, 1973.
Surviving are a son, Melvin, of Deshler; five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Clark, Deshler; Mrs. John (Myrtle) Critz, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Merle (Mary) Summers, Abilene, Texas; Mrs. Harold (Myrna) Chapman, Austin, Texas; and Mrs. Robert (Marcile) Bryan, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 29 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hill was a retired coal and ice dealer in Deshler. He also worked at the DeKalb Co., Deshler, for 23 years until he retired in 1973. He was a member of the I.O.O.F., Deshler, and the St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
