Otto W. Kuessel, Jr., 54, Route 2, Deshler died at Wood County General Hospital, Bowling Green after a brief illness. He was born April 17, 1927 in Holgate to Otto and Dora (Forwork) Kuessel. His father survives in Deshler. he married Norma Ludemann on June 10, 1951, and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Gary and Steven, both of Deshler; two daughters, Cindy of Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Charles (Bonnie) Salyers, Deshler; a brother, William of Malinta; a sister, Mrs. Delbert (Erika) Cordes, of Deshler; and four grandchildren. Mr. Kuessel was a farmer and member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Deshler. He served as a deacon and member of the church board of trustees. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a member of the Deshler American Legion post. Funeral services were at the church, the Rev. Andrew Ballas officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion post.
