Laurence Drummer, 89, of 144 S. Prospect St., Bowling Green, died at Wood County Hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1892 in Bowling Green to Joseph and Cunegunda (Koch) Drummer. He married Blanche Ireland on July 30, 1918, in Toledo. She is deceased. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Agnes Drummer of Bowling Green; three brothers, Herman J. and Edward C., both of Custar; Frances G., of Wauseon; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Drummer was associated with Custar State Bank since 1914. He had been secretary of the board of directors and was bank president until 1970, when he retired. He then became an honorary director. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War I, in which he served with the 325th Field Artillery Division in France. He was also a member of Veterans of World War I, Bowling Green Barracks and was a charter member of Norcross-Meyers American Legion Post 305, Custar. He was a lifetime member of the Ohio Hardware Association, having been a hardware merchant for 50 years. He owned Drummer Hardware in Custar. Mr. Drummer was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bowling Green. He wa a past colonel of the First District Knights of St. John. He was also a member of the Wood County Democratic Club. Funeral services were at the church, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
