Grace D. Bowman, 74, of 140 S. Vine St., Deshler, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. She was born Dec. 20, 1916 in Eskdale, W. Va., to Jubal E. and Ruth (Meadows) Jarrell. She married William H. Bowman on May 24, 1949, and he died March 2, 1988. Surviving are a son, Robert E. of Hamler; two daughters. Mrs. Richard (Ruth A.) Solo, Toledo; Mrs. David (Rita May) Sheets, Pickerington; three brothers, Clifford Jarrell, Columbus; Hoy E. Jarrell, Las Vegas, Nev., Rudolph Jarrell, Chester, Va.; a sister, Maxine Huffman, Chesapeake, W. Va.; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Bowman was a housewife. She was a veteran of the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and American Legion Auxiliary Post 316, all of Deshler. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Snyder-Bloor Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. Barry Weyant officiated. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
