Howard L. Hoffman, 77, of Custar died at the Wood County Hospital. Born in Custar on Oct. 7, 1912, he was the son of Charles and Ethel (0lder) Hoffman. On May 25, 1940, he married Mary Wagner, and she survives. Hoffman was a retired tool & die maker, employed with Daybrook-Ottawa in Bowling Green for 35 years. Following his retirement, Hoffman worked for Calderon Automation of Bowling Green constructing prototypes of new inventions for the company. he was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Custar; the Easy Goers Camping Club, Milton Township Senior Citizens and Milton Township Volunteer Fire Department where he had served 50 years. Also surviving are a son, Robert of Flushing, MI; a daughter, Arlene Boyer of Custar; three sisters Alice Harshman of Columbus Grove, Florence Lashaway of Weston and Dorothy Yates of Bowling Green; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Custar, Father Joseph Schmelzer celebrant. Interment was in the church cemetery.
