Edith Hennings, 90, formerly of Hoytville, died Jan 23 at Leisure Oaks Nursing Home in Defiance. Mrs. Hennings was born in Sadorus, IL., on Feb. 28, 1899 to Charles and Tressia (Knuff) Cakander. On Aug. 19, 1919, she married Walter Hennings, and he preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1983. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Charles, William, Alfred, and Edward Cakander; and three sisters, Kathryn Wilson, Julia Dochrin and Minnie Pierce. Surviving are a son, Glen of Deshler; two daughters, Ellen Lange of Napoleon and Joann Burson of Westlake; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A former member of Deshler's Immanuel Lutheran Church and a past president of its Ladies Aid Society; she was currently a member of Napoleon's Emanuel Lutheran Church. Services were held Jan. 26 in Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Rev. Norman Ritterling officiating with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay.
