Ellen J. Hines, 90, of McClure, died Aug. 12 following a long illness at Northcrest Nursing Home in Napoleon, where she had been a resident since 1973. She was born Nov. 26, 1896, to August and Mary Sellstrom. She married Virgil Hines on Dec. 30, 1920, and he died Aug. 23, 1966. Surviving are two sons, Ralph of McClure and Morris of Bloomdale, a sister, Nettie Lanzer of Napoleon, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Kline, and a son, Maynard. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, McClure, and the Lutheran Church Women. Funeral services were held Aug. 14 at Rodenberger Funeral Home in McClure with the Rev. Timothy Keeler officiating. Burial was in Hockman Cemetery.
