Ruth Miller Hoar, wife of Senator Hoar, who died in Washington, was a daughter of the late Henry W. Miller of Worcester, one of the city's leading merchants 50 years ago. Her only sister was Mrs. W. W. Rice who at one time was a United States conressman from the Worcester distict. Mrs. Hoar had been in poor health for several years, a heart affliction having troubled her all of that time.
