Word was received here last Friday of the very sudden death of Mr. and Mrs. [Clark] Halstead, father and mother of our former townsman, Mr. Ira Halstead, which occurred at their home near Pine Creek, Mich., one week ago last Sunday, one dying in the morning and the other during the evening, of pneumonia. Both of them were former residents of Deshler, and will be remembered by many of our former citizens. It was a sad blow to their family and quite a shock to their Deshler friends.
