Fred Homan, a retired Freedom township farmer, was instantly killed in a runaway accident. While on the hay rack, it is believed the team became frightened and ran away. Mr. Homan was thrown from the wagon beneath the wheels and the rear wheel passed across the left side of his face, crushing the skull and breaking his neck.
