Alma M. Shiarla, 85, of Holgate died April 16 in the Holgate Quality Care. Born near Okolona on April 3, 1906. Mrs. Shiarla was the daughter of Edward and Anna (Holers) Haase. On Jan. 24, 1926, she married Allan Shiarla and he survives. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and worked as a clerk at Dick's Pastries on Napoleon for 20 years. Also surviving are a son, James of New Bavaria, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters Stella Baden and Irene O'Connor. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon, Revs. Norman Koy, Gilbert Schillinger, and Steve Chellew officiated Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
